The investigation slaugjter some interesting turns, even though the field of suspects was narrow. And are there more young girls out there in the woods? A brilliant murder mystery written, as usual, with intensity that grips you from beginning to end. Lena Adams is one of them. Also by Karin Slaughter. That being said, I find it more interesting as a reader when an actual person solves a crime as opposed to a computer.

When you begin a new novel do you already have an idea of what you will continue from previous books, or do these stories unfold as you write? She has been through SO much and I think Jeffrey needs her on the force just as bad as she needs to be on the force.
Karin left us with a big foreshadowing at the end of the novel. It didn’t feel like the often abused ‘shock and awe’ trick I dislike. I’ve read this series a few times and I find it just as great as the first time. However, xlaughter will probably be happy to see that Detective Lena Adams, arguably the most slauvhter and engaging character in the series, gets karij page time and a bit of resolution in Faithless.

The relationship between the Sara and Jeffrey remains unresolved, leaving room for at least a couple more books revolving around the strained relationship slaugjter this couple. Because it made me happy, too. I also really love Sara and Jeffrey and their relationship. Which is why I need a few weeks between her books. Rather than Kathleen Early who has been great for the first 4 books, the narrator was Clarinda Ross.
It amazes me how she weaves the story. They work so well together and I hope that they are able to put their past behind them and move forward.

I really enjoyed the mystery and there is a very dramatic showdown at the end of the novel! I tend to enjoy unusual or extreme religious characters; having them a part of this story took my mind down several possible paths as I tried to figure out who committed the crimes and why.
