Although Vierne was born with congenital cataracts and thus had greatly reduced eyesight, he was successful both in composition and in organ performance. Since I’ve posted a greater number of pieces than normal they’re mostly pretty shortI’ve given less info than I normally do on each piece. This piece probably forms the most musically dramatic section in L’Orgue Mystiqueand in my opinion is one of the sub-pieces which would probably hold up best in a concert setting.
