It get’s to be quite repetitive. Aug 09, Jooooooo rated it it was mu. I was let down by the author’s writing style and the repetitiveness of the plot.

The movie was scary, but this book isn’t. It has some parts that make you kind of scare or disgusted if you want. Want to Read Currently Reading Read.

I wanted to cry and i kept looking around to make sure no one was there. The book went into more detail about the actual curse whereas the films merely touched on it.
It had everything I wanted it to have in a scary story. All 3 of the movies this is adapting were already out, it wan’t written while they were being made like most novelizations, where the author doesn’t know what will be left in the cutting floor, and was using a script as inspiration.
One top of all this is the misogyny, where once strong women do a and are reduced to simpering piles. Still, for what it was, it was decent for the first hundred pages. Some scenes made my face pale from emotions the characters felt. Lists with This Book.

If you don’t know the story, it’s basically about a woman who dies while in the throes of a terrible rage, and from then on decides to kill ANYONE who is unlucky enough to darken her doorstep. So if you like horror, I recommend this book completely. It’s graphic detail, indepth background information and writing style is completely original and it was just what I needed at the time.
I wasn’t scared anymore. It was with some trepidation that I picked up this novelisation of the movie, as it doesn’t really seem like a plot that could translate from screen to book well. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
